We believe our school is a community of students, staff, and families working together to ensure ALL students reach their full potential. We expect our students to question, communicate, creatively solve problems, think critically, and work collaboratively with others. Students are guided to be responsible people of character who strive to make the world a better place.
Superintendent’s Vision Statement
“The time we have with our kids will be effective and efficient, not wasting one minute, one second while we have them in our hands."
Volunteers collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles (no glass, cardboard or milk jugs) at the back gate and at the top of the drop-off driveway from 8:30 - 9:00. Items should be bagged in plastic bags.

Key of the Month
Each month of the school year, the Oceanside Unified School District will focus on one of the 8 Keys of Excellence district-wide. Students and staff will utilize the monthly key in their academic and professional pursuits.
The 8 Keys of Excellence are part of a character-driven curriculum designed to create a common language between students, staff and parents. The 8 Keys were developed by Quantum Learning, a research-based educational organization working to enhance student behavior and teacher excellence. OUSD is proud to partner with QLN in our efforts to enhance character education will all students and staff.

School Year 2017-18 School Start Times
Starting in the 2017-18 school year, early-start schools will switch to late-start schools and late-start schools will switch to early-start schools. There will be no changes to middle and high school bell schedules.
The school start time changes will begin in the 2017-18 school year and are per Board Policy 6112, which states that elementary schools (this includes K-8 schools) shall be rotated between an early-start schedule and a late-start schedule once every five years.
The new start time for our school will be 8:15am. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays students will dismiss at 2:55pm. On Wednesdays, students will dismiss at 12:25pm. Our half-day Kindergarten programs will attend from 8:15am - 11:35am for AM, and from 11:35am - 2:55pm for PM.
Once again these changes will take place in the 2017-18 school year. We are informing you now so families have plenty of time to plan for the new start times.
